Contest Rules

Length:
 
Elementary School – 2 typed pages
Middle School – 4 typed pages
High School – 5 pages

Format:
Prepare a separate title page that includes student’s name, home address, and phone number, name of school, grade, and sponsor teacher (if applicable).

Judging:
Those papers which DO adhere to the guidelines will be judged with special attention to the following criteria:
- Evidence of thoughtful use of resource materials that illustrate a point
- Treatment of assigned theme
- Clear and effective writing

Qualifying:
The following factors will be considered: paper on topic; paper received by deadline date; paper is not plagiarized

Written entries must be typed in 12 point Times New Roman font, double spaced on one side of paper, entry may be no longer than the guidelines specified

Papers will be reviewed for historically accuracy

Do not include your name or any page numbering on any page of your essay.

DEADLINE DATE: ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5:00 pm on APRIL 18, 2008.

YOU MUST SUBMIT THREE COPIES OF THE ESSAY.
